The father of an 8-year-old boy is facing criminal charges after his son brought a loaded gun to school and sold it to a classmate for $3.

Authorities say the 9mm was brought to P.S. 107 in Flushing, Queens after the third grader sold the weapon to a classmate, who told him it was a toy.

His father, 54-year-old Ignacio Galvan, told police that he had bought the gun for personal protection years ago.

He is currently being charged with criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, while his son is facing juvenile charges.
