A snake in a Japanese zoo has befriended a hamster provided to it as dinner. Strangely enough, the two inhabitants of the Mutsugoro Okoku Zoo have become fast friends and even sleep together.

Their unusual companionship has gotten the attention of the Japanese media, and visitors all across the country flock to see how two of nature’s most hated enemies can get along rather swimmingly.

Their unlikely friendship begs the question as to why more humans can’t get along as well as they do.
