A former police officer has pleaded not guilty in a court in Southern California after he was indicted for showing up at a SoCal-based massage parlor wearing a badge and gun and demanding a free rubdown and money for performing an “inspection” of the business.

Edward Justin LaPorte posed as an inspector and got a free 30-minute massage. He then demanded that the masseuse pay him $200.

The manager of the Golden Spa became suspicious about the supposed “quality-control check” and called the Lake Forest licensing offices only to find out that the man was an impostor.

When a real inspector showed up and started asking questions, LaPorte fled and was shortly apprehended by the police with the help of his license plate number.
