A West Virginia man who police say was high on bath salts attacked and killed his neighbor’s pet pygmy goat. Neighbors say they found him in his bedroom, dressed in a bra and panties, next to the dead animal.

Mark Thompson, 19, was charged with animal cruelty after police received a call from Lisa Powers, a woman who said he stole her goat at 3:15am on Monday.

The woman had bought the goat as a gift to her 4-year-old grandson, who named it Bailey.

“The baby just loved him,” she said.

Powers’ nephew, Joshua Pollis got a call from a neighbor who said they saw the goat wandering around Mark Thompson’s house.

Together with two friends, Pollis walked into Thompson’s house when they found him in women’s clothing with a dead goat and blood everywhere. “It was just a scene,” Pollis said.

After being arrested, Thompson told police that he was high on bath salts for at least three days, and had no real recollection of what he did.

Police say that the animal suffered at least one stab wound. The coroner is currently searching for signs of sexual trauma on the dead pet.
