A tire store employee was struck down by his own car when he tried to top someone from stealing it. Despite his injured leg, he ran the car down on foot and apprehended the suspect.

36-year-old Timothy Ray suffered an injured leg when the impact threw him into the side of the tire store.

Ray works at Graham Tire and was on duty early Saturday afternoon when he noticed a man going through cars at some nearby businesses. By the time he was aware that the man had been going thorugh his Buick in the tire store parking lot, the man was starting it with keys he found under the seat.

Ray was about 30 feet away from the car when the thief started the car and drove off. After hitting Ray with the stolen car, the driver hit a fence, a utility pole, and the building, and then he drove off, snapping into another utility pole and finally crashed into a parked car.

Despite his injuries, Ray ran behind the stolen car, caught up with the driver and took the thief to the ground, putting him in a headlock and a choke hold until others could arrive.
